About Temperature Converter Online
This tool converts between Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, and Rankine. Enter a value in any scale and the others update immediately.
The most common conversion need is Celsius ↔ Fahrenheit for comparing weather, cooking temperatures, and medical values across countries using different conventions. Kelvin is the SI base unit for thermodynamic temperature, used in science and engineering. Rankine is the absolute scale corresponding to Fahrenheit, used in some American engineering contexts.
All conversions use the precise algebraic formulas: °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32, K = °C + 273.15, and °R = (°F + 459.67).
How to use this tool
How to convert temperatures
Enter the temperature
Put the value into the Value field. Negative numbers are fine (use a minus sign) and decimals use a dot (e.g. -40.5).
Pick the source scale
From offers C (Celsius), F (Fahrenheit), and K (Kelvin). Pick the scale your number is in.
Pick the target scale
To lists the same three scales. C ↔ F is the most common conversion; physics work usually wants K.
Press Run
Result is rounded to 6 decimal places. Quick check: Celsius and Fahrenheit cross at exactly -40°; 0°C = 32°F = 273.15 K.
